A Chicago public school principal drew a drawing of a teacher that apparently went viral Mocks the assassination of Charlie Kirk As the victim in a letter to her parents – she did not mention the accusations against her.

Lucy Martinez, a teacher at Nathan Hale Elementary School, was recorded holding her finger to her neck and pretending to pull the trigger during a “No Kings” protest in the city over the weekend.

Her gesture, widely seen as mocking the assassination of conservative influencer Kirk last month, sparked a backlash.

In a letter sent to the larger school community and seen by The Post, Nathan Hale Elementary School Principal Dawn Iles-Gomez criticized the “threats” made against the teacher — but did not say what she did, or what discipline she received.

“We were recently made aware of social media posts that contained language resembling a potential threat to an employee,” the letter said.

“We take all potential threats seriously to ensure the safety of our school community. The Chicago Police Department (CPD) and the CPS Office of Safety and Security have been notified, and CPD is currently investigating this situation further,” Iles Gomez continued.

She added that “additional safety support” will be provided by continuing professional development at the beginning and end of the school day “out of an abundance of caution.”
