A driver crashes his car into a security barrier outside the White House
A man was arrested late Tuesday after he drove his car into a security barrier outside the White House, authorities said.
The US Secret Service said that the man crashed into the security gate at the entrance to the White House at 10:37 pm on Tuesday.
The agency said officers from the Uniform Division of the Secret Service immediately arrested the man.
Secret Service officials said in a statement that investigators searched his car and deemed it safe.
Authorities did not immediately provide any additional information about the accident, the identity of the driver, or any possible motive.
