An NYPD detective and mother of three died in Colombia a week after having a butt lift
An NYPD detective and loving mother of three died a week after having a butt lift and liposuction in Columbia — prompting her grieving husband to request an investigation into her sudden death, according to sources and reports.
Det. Alicia Stone, 40, was taken to Fundación Valle del Lili Hospital in Cali after she was discovered unresponsive in her hotel room around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, according to law enforcement sources.

The 13-year NYPD veteran who was part of the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau was pronounced dead just over an hour later, sources said.
The sources added that the cause of death was listed as “unspecified cardiac arrest.”
Sources reported that Stone underwent liposuction and gluteal fat transfer in the country on October 16, just one week ago.
Sources said she was taking anticoagulants and pain medications as part of her post-operative plan and was taken to a hotel to recover after surgery.
Her husband, Michael Stone, He told the Daily News He intends to request an autopsy and investigate the cause of her sudden death.
“The doctor who called me from Colombia just called me and told me that my wife had just died,” Michael told the outlet.
“She didn’t have any information to tell me when I was asking her… something didn’t make sense,” he said.

Michael added: “To be contacted on Thursday and informed of her death is shocking and distressing.”
“I don’t have the facts, which is what I need, the facts of what happened.”
Michael indicated that his wife was “perfectly fine” immediately before the operation, and she told her relatives the day before her death that she was fine.
A fundraiser for the Stone family described her as a “loving mother of three and a dedicated public servant who has spent her career protecting and serving others.”
“Alicia’s kindness, courage and compassion touched everyone she met, both in and out of uniform. Her unexpected death has left a huge void in the lives of her family, friends and fellow officers,” the fundraiser said.
Gluteal fat transfer, known as a Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL, involves transferring fat from other parts of the body to increase the size of the buttocks, according to To the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Experts said that uncommon complications, such as fat embolism, which leads to death, can occur as a result of intramuscular fat injection.
After Stone’s death, authorities contacted the Colombian National Police, the US State Department and a consular services official, the newspaper reported.
The husband also claimed that an NYPD detective had been sent to Colombia to look into her death.
Family members did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
