A jury convicted Bionka Ellis, 34, on Wednesday of slaughtering Julian Wood and wounding his mother, Margot Wood, in the parking lot of a Giant Eagle grocery store in suburban Cleveland in June last year.

The sick criminal targeted the child as his mother began unloading groceries into her car, jurors heard during the week-long trial.

Ellis – armed with kitchen knives she had just stolen from a nearby shop – attacked the couple and stabbed the young man twice before walking away.

The court heard that the deadly attack lasted just five seconds.

Little Julian was taken to hospital where he later died, while his mother was treated for stab wounds to her shoulder.

Prosecutors said the mother was injured when she frantically tried to pull her son from the shopping cart during the brutal attack.

Ellis, who was arrested by cops moments after the bloodshed, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

However, jurors convicted her of nine felony charges, including first degree murder, felonious assault, child endangerment, and aggravated robbery.

The boy’s parents, Margot and Jared Wood, issued a statement immediately after the jury reached their verdict.

“We just want to thank everyone for the love and support for our son,” they said. “Everyone who visited, commented, sent love, we appreciate you guys so much. This was for him today.”

Ellis, who has been held in jail on $5 million bail since a grand jury indicted him last year, will be sentenced Oct. 27.

The killer faces life in prison with or without the chance of parole.
