Beau Bichette is back.
The Blue Jays star will return for the World Series after missing the past month and a half with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The two-time All-Star has been out since Sept. 6 when he collided with Yankees outfielder Austin Wells while making a play at the plate.

He’s trying out a new position in his comeback as well.
Bichette will hit fourth and play second base for the first time in his big league career in the series opener on Friday night in Toronto.
He spent his entire MLB career at either shortstop or designated hitter.
“To be honest, I brought it up,” Bichette said of playing second. “It was something I felt like I could prepare for faster than another position. I just want to be ready to help the team in any way I can, so it seemed like an opportunity for me, and obviously they were on board with it.”
Bichette practiced Thursday at Rogers Center in what was expected to be the final hurdle in potentially being allowed to make the Blue Jays roster before the World Series.

“I think after our practice today, there will be a greater understanding of where I stand,” Bichette said Thursday. “For me, I’m just trying to do everything I can to be ready for anything I can do physically. I’m ready to help the team in any capacity.”
Bichette’s return is a big addition to a Blue Jays lineup that has flourished during his absence during this playoff run.
In 139 games, Bichette hit .311/.357/.483 with 18 home runs and 94 RBI.
