Brad Marchand cries in emotional return to Boston

Brad Marchand was overcome with emotion in his first trip to Boston with the Panthers.
The Bruins played a tribute video for Marchand, who was dealt at the trade deadline last season, during Tuesday’s game, showing highlights of his 15-year career in Boston, which included winning the Stanley Cup in 2011.
Marchand, 37, watched from the Panthers’ bench as the tribute was shown on the TD Garden video board, and he was quickly overcome with emotion as he tried to fight his emotions.
The veteran NHL forward jumped over the boards and raised his stick to salute the crowd while trying to maintain his composure, as the crowd at the Bruins’ home rink applauded him.

“I just want to thank you guys for everything,” he said. “For the last 15 years, they have been the best years of my life.”
Marchand scored 422 goals and 976 points in 1,090 games with Boston. He has played the fourth-most games in franchise history and stands fourth on the Bruins’ all-time scoring list.
He also ranks fifth in all-time points in franchise history.
