Bryant Gumbel, 77, hospitalized in New York City: report

Legendary broadcaster Bryant Gumbel was reportedly taken to the hospital Monday evening after suffering a “medical emergency” at his Manhattan apartment.
The 77-year-old former “Today” show host, who was carried from his apartment on a stretcher and remained hospitalized Tuesday, Sources told TMZ.
His exact condition and what he is being treated for are unclear.
But a family member confirmed that Gamble was “fine,” the outlet reported.
Gamble, who retired from broadcasting in 2023, suffered from lung cancer in 2009.
He blamed his cancer diagnosis on smoking three packs a day during his younger years.
Gamble was a fixture on the NBC morning show for 15 years from 1982 to 1997.
He was the longtime host of HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” until the show ended two years ago.
