Canelo Alvarez questions Terence Crawford’s mental courage, marking an unfamiliar grand platform

Canelo Alvarez predicts that Terence Crawford will be shocked by fighting in front of the large crowd at the Allegation Stadium in Las Vegas on September 13th. Alvarez believes Crawford (41-0, 31 ko) could be unrivaled fighting in front of a huge crowd for the first time in his career.

Allegation Stadium threat factor

That could throw it away because the fans will not eat out of the palm of his hand as he is used to him while fighting in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.

“He is one of the best fighters. He achieved many things. Mexican with an American fighter is always great,” Canelo Alvarez told JournalTalk about Terence Crawford. “It’s going to be different. We see how he treats that thing,” said Canelo on Crawford fighting in front of a big crowd at the Allegation Stadium in Las Vegas.

At the battle of Crawford against Israil Madrimov on May 3, 2024, at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, he fought in front of a crowd of 23,000. The difference is that the fans were shouting for Crawford because he was the side.

Many of the fans saw Madrimov for the first time. In contrast, the Allegion Stadium sits 65,000 and can be expanded to 72,000. Supporters present are likely to shout for Canelo, as he is the supermarket in this fighting. He has also fought in Las Vegas more than Crawford.

Las Vegas Experience

“I don’t think Crawford is that kind of fighter,” said Canelo when asked if Terence is going to move around a lot in their battle. “He’s blowing, and I like that. I’m focusing on Crawford, and then we’ll see,” said Alvarez about whether he’s interested in a second chance with Dmitry Bivol.

Crawford may not move as much as William Scull did in his battle with Canelo on May 3, 2025, but he is still on his bike much of the time. In the last battle of Terence against Israil Madrimov, he often moved around, trying not to be hit. That’s why it came close to losing. Madrimov was the one who was pushing the fighting, taking her to Crawford.

Rattling Crawford Decision

“As soon as he feels the power, he will be the same,” said Canelo when asked if, as soon as Crawford feels his power, he stops swapping with him. “I don’t know. He’s a very good fighter, a smart, and very disciplined fighter,” Alvarez said about whether Crawford can hurt him.

It makes sense what Canelo says about Crawford chooses not to engage once he is hit. In the three big punchers Crawford has fought during his 17 -year pro career, Madrimov, Yurorkis Gamboa, and Egidijus Kavaliauskas, moved around many. Against Errol Spence, Terence did not do much because it appeared to be drained, slow, and his reflexes looked poor.
