Cheryl Hines confronts reporter about husband’s alleged online affair

Actress Cheryl Hines, wife of Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy JrIn a podcast clip published Friday, journalist Olivia Nuzzi was confronted about her husband’s alleged “digital affair.”
Hines, who starred in HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,”The Katie Miller PodcastFor an interview to be published in full next Tuesday. In a preview of the episode shared by the show, Miller asked Hines how she responds to “rumors or speculation about her marriage.”
“I think you always have to consider the source, right? So that’s where I start,” Hines told Miller. “And then the conversation with Bobby ends.”
Journalist Olivia Nuzzi, now an editor at Vanity Fair, is coming out With the book J her details Perceived emotional and digital relationships With Kennedy. Nuzzi was at the center of a media firestorm in September 2024 after she claimed to have had an online romantic relationship with Kennedy while covering his presidential campaign for New York magazine. Hines said Friday that when Nuzzi’s allegations broke, she took them as “more confusion and rumors” during the turbulent period of her husband’s entry into politics. He abandoned his independent bid in August and endorsed eventual President Donald Trump.
“I don’t know this person,” Haynes said in response to the upcoming book.
“I don’t know their intentions. I can guess, but I won’t. But if you want to, you can,” she told Miller with a laugh.
“There are a lot of people who look for leverage,” Miller said.
“Well, that’s the thing I learned during the campaign,” Haynes said. “There are people who really want to join the conversation, and they want to be a part of it. And they want to—I’m not just talking about this person, I’m talking about a lot of people. And they spend a lot of time figuring out how to write something that gets people’s attention, and if they do that, they’re really celebrating, you know? And it doesn’t matter whether it’s true or false. It’s a celebration, it’s an achievement for them.”

Sources close to Hines and Kennedy told the New York Post that they were “blindsided” by news of the impending tell-all.
“Bobby and Cheryl initially went through marital hell last year when the affair first came to light. She even considered divorce for a while, but they’ve since reconciled and are relieved the scandal seems to be over,” the insider told the Post.
“Sherrill ultimately and vehemently believed, without reservation, that Bobby denied” that he had an intimate relationship with Nuzzi, Post Reported.
