Fabio Wardley’s Eyes 2026 WBO UNIVERSITY WITH USYK
WBO Interim Heavyweight Champion Fabio Wardley, who is newly crowned states that he is confident he can defeat the undoubted heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk next, provided he gives him the shot under WBO mandate after his 11th round shot of Joseph Parker last Saturday night in London.
“His team said he would be happy to take the winner. I think he was a man of his word. Hopefully, in 2026, we will see usyk,” Fabio Wardley told Sky Sports Boxing For Oleksandr Usyk, following through his next face after his victory over Joseph Parker. “I know it’s mandated by the WBO.
Safer usyk options: Fury or AJ
It would be a good idea for the Wardley team to have a good plan B in case usyk decided he would rather not face it. From a business perspective, usyk can make more money fighting Fury or Anthony Joshua in a trilogy game. That fight is more won to the 38 -year -old usyk, as he would not have to worry about being hunted down as Wardley would have. That talent will walk through any punch that usyk throws to reach to land his bombs.
Plan B: the four major threats
Usyk has not spoken to his feet since last night’s victory by Wardley (20-0-1, 19 ko), but he is expected to comment soon as to whether he will agree or not. If not, Wardley will have to look in another direction toward one of these ‘The Big Four’:
- Moses will hurt
- Agit Kabayel
- Frank Sanchez
- Hrgovic Filip
Ideally, Tyson Fury Coming out of retirement to face Wardley, but there is little chance for him to do so. ‘The Gypsy King’ has made too much money in his last two fights, and has removed any ambition he once had to continue his career.
Getting up against a prickly predator like Wardley would be a nightmare for the 37 -year -old Fury. This has nothing to do with its growing age and center. Fury would battle Wardley at any age, even when he was at his best in 2015, when the old Lion Wladimir Klitschko subdued.
Wardley’s belief in complete supremacy
“How good is a boxer and how much talent it is, but I have self-belief. I don’t mind who he is. By his bare bones, he is a man across the ring with two arms, just like me. So, any man who steps in the circle with me, I can defeat,” said Wardley, talking about his belief that Usy can.

Since 2014, Olly Campbell has brought a clear perspective from the side of the ring to readers and a constant voice on the largest boxing evenings.
