TORONTO – There was a touch of Kirk Gibson and a lot of Joe Carter.

George Springer, limping but game, hit the most important home run for the Blue Jays since the ball went to almost the same vicinity in what was then called the SkyDome. It was October 23, 1993, when Carter pulled Mitch Williams Stadium into the left field seats for a three-run homer that turned a one-run deficit into an 8-6 World Series victory over the Phillies.

That gave the Blue Jays back-to-back championships and was the last time they were in the World Series.
