Giants’ Kevon Thibodeaux upset with non-fumble call against Eagles

The New York Giants Philadelphia lost some momentum in the loss to the Eagles after an early whistle on Jalen Hurts’ tush push was called a turnover.
Two plays later, the Eagles took a 14-7 lead on a Hurts touchdown pass Saquon Barkley. Philadelphia won the game 38–20 and continued their dominance against the Giants at Lincoln Financial Field.

It was pass rusher Kevon Thibodeaux who ripped the ball away from Hurts as the game-ending whistle blew. Referee Brad Rogers said Thibodeaux had stopped Hurts’ forward progress before the play. However, Hurts was still driving the field and no part of his body had yet touched the ground.
“(The official) said he made progress before the ball went out,” Thibodeaux told reporters. via ESPN. “I— sounds like some bull.”

After teammate Brian Burns reminded Thibodeaux that he could be penalized for harsh comments on officials, he changed his tune and admitted that The officers’ work was difficult.
“Sorry, I mean, it was a good call by the refs. You can’t blame anything on a missed call. I think we didn’t stop the runs. They played 50-50 balls and they got the best of us,” he added.
Thibodeaux had five tackles, a deflection and a QB hit.
The tush push has been a hot topic throughout the year.

In the last meeting between the two teams, the Eagles ran a tush push four times in their one touchdown drive. New York won that game earlier this month.
NFL owners are being pressured to ban the play. The opinion reads that calls would have been prohibited during the offseason. It is expected to repeat next year.
