I Canceled My Birthday When My Friends Said I Should Cover the Bill Because I’m Vegan / Bright Side

“Hello, the bright side!

On my thirtieth birthday, I booked a small, informal restaurant -Nothing fools, just a spot with a mixture of vegetable and non -plant options so that everyone can enjoy themselves. I check the list to make sure that no one will feel out.

Then the group chat started. First of all jokes came from “rabbit food”. Then the question: “Do we all have to ask for a vegetarian just because it is your birthday?” I reminded them that they could eat what they want. But then one of them said, “If you make us adapt to you, you may have to cover the bill.” Two others agreed.

This was. I was canceled.

instead of, I booked myself with a table in The Fancest Steakouse. Yes, a slice. They also encountered that they had an incredible vegetarian tasting menu – something I always wanted to try but I had no excuse to boast about it.

Of course after the course arrives, coated like art, each bite is better than the past. I sat there smiled, knowing that what was supposed to be a collective dinner had turned into a better thing: only a celebration for me.
