
Israel received 2 more hostage coffins from Gaza through the mediation of the Red Cross

Israel The coffins of two hostages returned from Gaza were received by the Red Cross on Tuesday, as officials said the remains would be identified before being released to their families as the military vowed to continue working to bring home all remaining captives.
Prime Minister By Benjamin Netanyahu The coffin was handed over to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet forces in Gaza, the office said. From there, they will be transferred to Israel, where they will be received in a military ceremony with the chief military rabbi.
Once received, the coffins will be kept in the custody of the Ministry of Health’s National Center of Forensic Medicine, where they will be identified. Families will receive a formal notification once the process is complete.
The Prime Minister’s Office said it has updated all the families of the dead hostages and expressed condolences for their loss.

“The effort to return our hostages continues unabated and will not stop until the last hostage is returned,” Netanyahu’s office said.
The news comes on the same day Remains of hostages returned from Gaza Known as Sgt. Major Tal Haimi, commander of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak’s Rapid Response Team.

Haimi was 41 when he died and was killed in action while defending Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak in the October 7, 2023 massacre, according to the IDF. His remains were taken to Gaza, where they were kept for more than two years.
Haimi’s family initially believed he had survived, and Israel declared him dead on December 13, 2023.

After Haimi’s remains were identified, Netanyahu’s office offered condolences to his family and reiterated his appeal. Hamas released the remains of all dead hostages For a proper burial.
The IDF echoed the call, demanding that Hamas fulfill its obligations under the deal brokered by the Trump administration.

On October 13, 2025, the last 20 surviving hostages returned to Israel after more than two years in captivity. Since then, the remains of the 28 dead hostages have slowly returned, while the other 13 – US citizens Itai Chen and Omer Neutra and soldier Hadar Goldin, whose body has been held since 2014 – remain in Gaza.
