Knicks OG Anunoby feels ‘good’ after ankle scare against Celtics

OG Anunoby participated in practice on Saturday after being released Friday’s win over the Celtics In the fourth quarter.

“I feel fine,” the two-way forward replied, backing up what coach Mike Brown said after the game that his issue was a cramp and not the ankle issue that sidelined him late in the preseason.

Anunoby scored 10 points in 29 minutes on Friday night after scoring a team-high 24 points in a season-opening win two nights ago over the Cavaliers.

“That’s how good teams are,” Anunoby said after practice. “You can’t win with one person. The whole team is capable, especially on our team, there are a lot of capable players. So depending on how the game goes or how we defend, it can be anyone’s night.”

“We’re 2-0 and we’re going to get better as the year goes on. That’s our main goal, just to keep going. … So I think it’s really good. Everyone can play, everyone is talented in the NBA. So we have a lot of guys that can play on the team, and it’s just about being ready when your number is called and producing to help the team win.”

Josh Hart came out of his season debut Friday in good physical shape after sitting out several weeks with back spasms, Brown said.

Brown had called Hart a “monster” after he grabbed 14 rebounds — including six on the offensive glass — in 19 minutes off the bench.

“Monster game. Monster game,” Brown repeated Saturday. “His effort was unbelievable, especially on the glass. Between three players, we got 15 offensive rebounds, when you talk about Cat (Karl-Anthony Towns), Josh and (Gershon) Yabuselli. Josh played 19 minutes, got six. He was unbelievable.”

Oft-injured center Mitchell Robinson (ankle), who Brown said is “still managing the load and still ramping it up,” was ruled out again against the Heat. Towns (quad) and Myles McBride (personal) are listed as questionable, while Hart is probable.
