Indoor plumbing is one of the great joys of modern life. For most, this is enough. For others, having a toilet that can respond to voice commands, warm your butt, and perform other “smart” functions is a new kind of heaven.
Kohler listened. As the edge Reportsthe plumbing fixtures company had a big hit at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this week unveil Numi 2.0 Intelligent Toilet, a flint that looks to gain a reputation as an iPhone Waste disposal.
The luxurious throne comes Ocean lightning and built-in surround speakers, both of which can be activated using your voice via the Amazon Alexa interface. Kohler isn’t completely clear on what kind of ambiance users might prefer for their bodily functions, but for some, having a soundtrack to their voids may be better than any sounds coming from their bodies.
The toilet also features what Kohler calls the PureWarmth option, which raises the seat temperature for maximum back comfort. The company also describes personal “cleaning and drying functions,” which likely means the bidet feature.
If that experience isn’t enough, Numi will work in concert with Kohler’s full line of voice-activated bathroom fixtures, including the Verdera Voice Lighted Mirror that features a motion-activated night light function and a smart bathtub that will pre-fill itself to the desired depth and temperature.
The Smart Mirror starts at $1,249. The tub is $4,849. The toilet, the crown jewel of the collection, will apparently retail for $7,000. A release date has not been announced yet.
