Four NBA teams are named as participating in games in Comprehensive FBI investigation into illegal gambling.
The names of the Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors are all included in the indictment, Joseph Nocella Jr., US Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, told reporters.

The multi-million dollar scheme, which was allegedly carried out between January 2022 and March 2024 It involves exchanging non-public information with bettorsincluding when players are out of matches or withdraw early from matches.
The teams themselves are not implicated in any wrongdoing, but players and coaches — both current and former — are accused of providing “non-public information” to help insiders make successful prop bets on NBA games.
