Max Scherzer was looking forward to playing in his fourth World Series

The suspense is still there for future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer, a starter for the Jays.
“This means just like the first one,” Scherzer, who is playing in his fourth World Series championship (Tigers, Nats, Rangers), told The Post. “I just appreciate all the opportunities I’ve gotten. I’m so lucky.
“I enjoy it just as much as ever,” added Scherzer (who tied with Lonnie Smith at four: Phillies, Cardinals, Royals, Braves).

Scherzer is 41, but it’s hard to see him pinning it now.
