Mets coach Desi Droschl is making a return to the Yankees

Assistant pitching coach Desi Droschel has returned to the Yankees after spending one year with the Mets, The Post has confirmed.
Druschel spent three seasons on coach Matt Blake’s staff in the Bronx after joining the organization in 2019 before leaving for a similar role with the Mets before last season.
After the installation, coach Jeremy Hefner was He left the Mets after the season – With the team not picking up his contract option – Druschel was offered the chance to return to the Mets with permission to talk to other teams.

Since he was hired in part by Hefner, it made sense to return to the Yankees, who also made a change to their coaching staff by not retaining longtime bullpen coach Mike Harkey.
Drochel is the latest coach to leave Mets manager Carlos Mendoza’s staff, including Hefner, bench coach John Gibbons, hitting coaches Eric Chavez and Jeremy Barnes, and pitching coach Mike Sarbu. Hunting coach Glenn Sherlock has retired.
As for the Yankees, Preston Claiborne replaced Druschel last year and is expected to stay.
Druschel’s return to the Yankees was first reported by ESPN.
