Michael Jordan The NBA side may be back, but his love for the game is still strong.
The Chicago Bulls Legend, 62, spoke with NBC’s Mike Tirico as the league’s coverage changed networks and the Hall of Famer took on a new role as a “special contributor.”

He told Tirico that he still loved the game and wished he could somehow get back on the floor.
“In all honesty, I wish I could take a magic pill, put on shorts and play a game of basketball today because that’s who I am,” Jordan said. “I live for that kind of competition, that kind of competitiveness, and I miss it.
“I miss that aspect of playing basketball. Being able to challenge myself against what people see as great basketball. But instead of popping my Achilles, it’s better for me to talk to you and be in a wheelchair for a while.”

Jordan said he still wants to talk basketball and “pass it on” for players currently in the NBA.
“I think, more or less, being a basketball player is able to convey the message of success and dedication to the game of basketball,” he added.
Jordan has been away from the game for nearly two years after selling his stake in the Charlotte Hornets in August 2023 for more than $3 billion. He has turned his attention to 23XI Racing and the NASCAR Championship.

Jordan is considered the greatest NBA player of all time. He went undefeated in his NBA Finals run, has five NBA MVP awards and was a 14-time All-Star. He played most of his career with the Bulls Washington Wizards.
