‘Outer Banks’ director accused of grabbing PA and yelling at her during intervention by Chase Stokes and Madeline Cline
“Outer Banks” director Jonas Pate was accused of grabbing and yelling at a production assistant, while actors Chase Stokes and Madeline Cline intervened.
The incident allegedly occurred while the Netflix series was filming its fifth and final season in Dubrovnik, Croatia. According to TMZ.
Pate, 55, allegedly shook the PA while shouting at her, prompting Stokes, who portrays John B in Outer Banks, to jump in and separate them.
Klein, who plays John B.’s love interest, Sarah Cameron, on the series, also stepped in to help calm the situation, the outlet reported.
Multiple production sources told the outlet that Pat’s alleged behavior was not “unusual.”
“It’s time to come clean,” a source told TMZ.
Page Six has reached out to Netflix, Pate, Cline, and Stokes for comment.
Jonas co-created Outer Banks, a show about a group of teens searching for treasure linked to the disappearance of John B.’s father, with Josh Pate and Shannon Burke.
The first season premiered in 2020, followed by three more seasons in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
The show faced criticism when main character JJ – played by Rudy Pankow – was killed off at the end of season four.
However, Jonas defended the story, saying that JJ’s character was destined to die.
“It was kind of built into his DNA from the beginning. He’s really a tragic character, and the idea of death, and you only have a limited window — that’s also the theme of the show,” he told The Hollywood Reporter last November.
“It’s something that John B. has talked about since Season 1. So believe it or not, that’s something that was always baked into the cake, and we just wanted to tell the story as elegantly and interestingly as possible.”
The fifth and final season of “Outer Banks” is expected to be released in 2026.
