Palantir CEO Alex Karp defended his support President Donald Trump railed against protesters in an exclusive interview Thursday on “The Clayman Countdown.”
“I’m really supportive of the president’s, border and national security issues,” Karp said. “Those are the only two things I actually focus on.”
Karp has defended his support for Trump ahead of the Nov. 4 release of a new book about the tech leader and Palantir. Axios reports the book, written by journalist Michael Steinberger, traces how Karp went from a self-described progressive to a “full-on MAGA.”

Although Palantir’s CEO called the biography “mostly true” but “not all true,” its author has little to say. “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

“I’m very supportive of the president, and (the writer) thinks I’m crazy,” Karp explained.
Karp argues that Trump deserves credit for many major accomplishments.

“And I think these people who can’t learn, at what point can you accept accomplishment?” he asked. “As such, these are really — like getting the peace deal, closing the border, humiliating Iran — world-historic achievements.

“And I don’t understand why you don’t accept that,” Karp continued. “But, of course, you know, a lot of people, if you admit to obvious and extraordinary accomplishments, they think you’re deviant.”
As the first US CEO to visit Ukraine, Karp revealed that he “really respects” Trump.

“(Trump) is a really peaceful president,” Karp said. “At Palantir, the idea, and one that I support a lot, is, you know, you want to be strong enough that there won’t be any wars. Wars are really bad.”
He explained why he hopes a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia will “profoundly” improve the lives of many.
“As we’ve seen, the president is absolutely busy,” Karp said. “But I’m proud that we’ve been able to support (the Ukrainians). And they’re very, very tough people. I think they’ll keep fighting until they feel they can accept it.”
President Trump has canceled an expected meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest, Hungary because he doesn’t see enough progress toward peace. However, a future summit has not been ruled out, the White House said.
Trump and Putin spoke by phone on Oct. 16, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio canceled plans for a meeting after a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday.
