Police sources said that a girl from New York City was attacked by her deranged stepfather, and had an object stuck to her nose.

The 12-year-old girl who was allegedly stabbed by her deranged stepfather in the Bronx during a bloody rampage earlier this week was found with “some type of implement” up her nose, The Washington Post has learned.
The sources said that the girl underwent surgery at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens to remove the foreign object after the attack that occurred Wednesday night in the family’s apartment on East 173rd Street near Boone Street in the Bronx.
“You wouldn’t be right,” a source said.
Her stepfather, Joshua Burnside, 28, stabbed the girl in the head, then plunged the knife into his 31-year-old wife’s abdomen and cut her face, cops said.
A neighbor said the desperate mother was knocking on doors after the terrifying incident, saying, “Help me! Help!” – And he even asked him for a knife.
The neighbor, who requested to remain anonymous, said: “She was bleeding from her head, and she was showing us her stab wounds, and she had a stab wound in her intestines.”
She asked for a knife, and I told her: No. We were trying to be helpful and mind our own business at the same time, you know? “We don’t want to cause trouble.”
“We were the first to go out, and others came out,” the neighbor said. “Someone else asked her to go away.”
The accused maniac was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and acting in a manner injurious to a child for the cold-blooded attack, police said.
The sources said that it is expected that these charges will be upgraded to attempted murder.
The neighbor said the woman was “covered in blood.”
“She was like, ‘Oh, I just got attacked. My husband attacked me eight years ago,'” he recalls.
The neighbor, who said he was concerned for his children, called 911.
“She ended up running upstairs,” he said. “We called the cops, and when they came, we just saw the consequences of them turning away the kids and the man and her. It was a horrific and very sad situation.”
The mother’s ex-boyfriend, who met her when they lived in Philadelphia, was shocked to learn of the incident.
“He shouldn’t have done what he did,” said the former lover, who asked to remain anonymous.
The man remembers the girl calling him daddy.
“He’s a monster,” the former said of the suspect. “When you do something like that, it means you have a really serious problem. You were trying to kill them.”
It’s unclear why the stepfather went off the handle, cops said.
Police sources said two younger children in the apartment, a 5-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl, were Burnside’s biological children and were unharmed.
Burnside was shot in the wrist and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. It was not clear how he was injured.
Police said the knife was found at the scene.
