The Minneapolis community showed an outpouring of support in the wake of the August Annunciation School and Church shootings by displaying thousands of green and blue bows in the Twin Cities, especially southwest Minneapolis.
Now city officials and a community group Love bows It aims to collect all the bows still on display in Minneapolis, St. Paul and some surrounding suburbs.
Bows of Love volunteer Sarah Henning says the collected tapes will be delivered to Annunciation and reused for a student art project that is still in development.
"“Our goal is to collect all tapes found in public places from Minneapolis by October 31,” Henning said.
The deadline to collect strips is November 8 for nearby suburbs and by November 15 for St. Paul.
“We want people to take this opportunity now that we are bringing them together, to be in community with each other and find this new way to share support and show love to the students of Annunciation,” Henning said.
