Quarterback Arch Manning was not injured in the overtime win, a report emerged Saturday morning. Athletic Sarkisian’s representatives “have informed NFL decision makers that he would be interested in a potential head coaching opening with the (Tennessee) Titans.”

Sarkisian’s agents slammed the report, calling it “blatantly false and grossly inaccurate,” while the man himself took time to speak after the game.

“I’d like to touch on that, so bear with me for a second because one person can make a report that, in turn, the entire media and sports world is driven by facts, my agency and my agents had to make a statement, which they’ve never historically done,” Sarkisian said. OrangeBloods.com.

“CAA, Jimmy Sexton, Ed Merinowitz never did that. But I had to do it to protect my locker room and my team, and I found it absolutely ridiculous.

“I thought it was completely unprofessional of that guy to put that report out and the fact that everyone ran with it is a shame on the media.”

Sarkisian added that “it gets a smaller circle when I make decisions about what I do and don’t do.” But his focus is on his Longhorns, who are now 6-2 and ranked No. 22 in the nation.

Sarkisian has been the head coach of the Longhorns since 2021 and has a 44-19 record so far. Texas was the preseason No. 1, but Manning and the Longhorns’ offense have struggled to be as consistent as they were led to believe this year.
