Taylor Sheridan Set to Leave Paramount for NBCUniversal in ‘Megadeal’ TV Movie
Star writer and creator of Paramount Taylor Sheridan He reportedly signed a “massive” deal with NBCUniversal, marking the end of his reign at Paramount.

Sheridan was reportedly “disappointed” that the executives he worked with were “fired or sidelined” after the merger, while new executives began to question the budgets of the chart-topping TV series.
Sheridan has signed a film and television deal with NBCUniversal. The “huge” deal includes a roughly eight-year pact for the film that will begin in March 2026. But Sheridan will begin writing and producing shows for NBCUniversal platforms starting in 2028 when his current deal with Paramount expires.
Bellone described the five-year TV deal as “lucrative, unique and potentially a game-changer for the streaming industry.”
It’s not clear how much Sheridan will earn from the deal, but Bellone described it as a “huge deal” that signals a “significant pay increase” for Sheridan.

The director and writer has become a prolific creator in the streaming era with hits like Yellowstone – which produced many side effects including 1923, 1883and the next Dutton Farmbut not limited to – as well Lioness and Landman.
NBCUniversal wasn’t the only company interested in poaching Sheridan. Warner Bros. tried to Discovery, Apple, Netflix and Amazon are courting him for a deal.
But the new deal could be a chance for Sheridan to get back into filmmaking. “He reportedly saw Universal as a place where he could be treated as an elite filmmaker, while also producing the kind of high-end TV series for which he became known,” Belloni notes in his report.
There is speculation that Paramount let Sheridan walk because of the “exorbitant” costs of his shows, which are often shot on location and pay for major stars including Zoe Saldaña and Billy Bob Thornton.
For now, fans still have a lot to look forward to from Sheridan. His new offers Nola King and Dutton Farm It may reportedly premiere next year, along with new episodes of the series Landman and Lioness.
