Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, said Wednesday that she would “strongly consider” running for the U.S. Senate and told SiriusXM’s “The Lurie Daniel Favors Show” that recent polls showed her to be the top contender. Texas Democratic Primary.

During the interview, Favors asked Crockett about her district being redrawn by the Texas Legislature and whether she plans to run to represent her new district.

Crockett said while she has no idea where she might run, she and her team are waiting for the court to make a final decision on whether the new district route will take effect. If the lines change, she will be transferred to another district, she said.

“The other option is that there’s a poll every other day that makes it clear that I can win the primary for the US Senate race in Texas, and I’m looking, because if you want to take my seat by 766,000, I think there’s some karma where I put you 30 million away,” Crockett said.

“A primary is a primary. That’s great. But, you want to win in general, so we’re doing some tests here soon to see if I can expand the electorate,” she added.

Crockett said she doesn’t hold much stock in traditional voting, arguing that it fails to capture voters who don’t typically participate in elections. She added both Barack Obama and the president Donald Trump Although successful in motivating non-traditional voters, it is said that pollsters often ignore those who could be persuaded to vote in the first place.

She said the key to winning in Texas is not relying on existing voters, but expanding them. Crockett told the host that she is studying polling data to identify which demographics can be mobilized, and said that if she believes the electorate can be broadened enough, she would “strongly consider” entering the U.S. Senate race.

“They are completely wrong,” Crockett said. “Here’s the reality: They don’t want the American people to know any form of history. We know there was news today that the President is going after more historical information.

“The reality is when you look at what’s happening, when you look at dictatorships and what they do is basically try to say you have to do whatever the government says, even if that means your personal freedom whether what we say is right or wrong. Right now our personal freedoms are under constant attack,” she said.

Speaking at a Human Rights Campaign event in March, Crockett was seen mocking Abbott, who is paralyzed from the waist down and uses a wheelchair.

“You know we’ve got the governor hot wheels down—come on! And the only thing about him that’s hot is that he’s a hot– mess, honey,” Crockett said.
