Are you looking forward to living your golden years in peace and prosperity? You may want to consider moving to one of these monetary communities.

GOBankingRates has compiled a list of the safest and most affluent retirement cities in America — and New Jersey’s Jeb made the rankings.

The company analyzed data from the U.S. Census’s American Community Survey, the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Consumer Expenditure Survey, and other sources to compose their list. Only cities with at least 25% of residents aged 65 or older were included.

GoBankingRates also examined each area’s AreaVibes livability score, which takes into account things like crime rates and access to amenities, including hospitals.

Fort Lee, New Jersey, came in 12th place on the list, and was the only tri-state city on the list.

The city, which lies just over the bridge from Manhattan and is considered a suburb of the Big Apple, has a very high livability score of 88, which is reinforced by low rates of violent crime, low rates of property crime, and easy access to Manhattan.

The median annual retirement income is $47,944, while the median single-family home value is $939,775, meaning residents enjoy reasonable wealth.

Fort Lee was just one of two Northeast cities on GOBankingRates’ list.

The city of Gloucester, Massachusetts, came in twenty-seventh place.

No city in Florida received this reduction — an especially surprising fact considering that the Sunshine State has long been considered the retirement hotspot in America.

However, California had 12 of the safest and wealthiest retirement cities, including Rancho Palos Verdes, Laguna Woods, Walnut Creek, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, and Palm Springs.

Meanwhile, Arizona has 7 cities on the list, including the number one enclave.

Oro Valley, located just north of Tucson, has been named the safest and wealthiest retirement city in America.

With a low violent crime rate and access to city amenities, Oro Valley has a high livability rating of 81.

The upscale area, which also boasts stunning mountain views, is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream, with a plethora of golf courses, hiking trails and nature reserves.

Oro Valley also has a community feel, complete with weekly farmers markets, festive parades, and a number of local art galleries.
