The former Anoka Co. mayor has been nominated for U.S. Marshal
The white house He was nominated this week Former Anoka County Sheriff James Stewart will be the next U.S. Marshal of Minnesota.
Stewart was one of two candidates for the position Recommended earlier this year By the Minnesota Republican Congressional delegation. The other was former Minneapolis Police Union leader Bob Kroll.
Stewart served three terms as Anoka County Sheriff before choosing not to run for re-election in 2022. Most recently, he served as executive director of the Minnesota Sheriffs’ Association.
If Stewart is confirmed by the US Senate, he will fill the position recently held by Eddie Frizzell, a Biden appointee.
