The Giants’ return of Darius Slayton should ease the burden on Wandale Robinson’s shoulders

PHILADELPHIA – Wan’Dale Robinson should get some help in Sunday’s rematch with the Eagles, as Darius Slayton is ready to return to the Giants after missing the past two games with a hamstring strain.

Robinson had six assists (on 12 goals) in 33-32 loss in Denver. He was the only Giants wide receiver to have a reception.

Lil Jordan Humphrey (two goals), Jalen Hyatt (one) and Bucs Collins (one) were shut out. Tight ends Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger combined for six punts, but that’s not ideal when wideouts don’t take the passing attack into account.

“It’s definitely difficult. I think if you score 30 points it doesn’t seem too difficult, but you definitely want to spread the ball out a little bit more,” Robinson told The Post.

In Slayton’s absence, Robinson has clearly become a prime target for rookie quarterback Jackson Dart, with 12 receptions for 179 yards and one touchdown in the past two games.

“He did a great job, he’s kind of the antithesis of the stereotype. A lot of people say he’s a small guy, they say he couldn’t get it done at his size, and he went out there the last two Sundays and did a great job for us,” Slayton said.

Slayton was off to a slow start in his seventh season with the Giants. He had just 12 receptions for 179 yards in the first five games and lost a costly fumble in New Orleans. That was the last time he played. He is ready to come back now.

“Just having another guy who’s proven himself, defenses have to respect that, so everyone can open up freely,” Robinson said.

Is this the game where Dexter Lawrence finally gets his first sack of the season?

Eagles center Cam Jurgens (knee) is out. Philadelphia will also be without former Giants players CB Adoree’ Jackson (concussion) and OLB Azeez Ojulari (hamstring).

Longtime Eagles DL Brandon Graham came out of retirement this week, but he won’t make his 2025 debut in this game. … With two sacks last week in Denver, Brian Burns became the sixth player since 2000 to have at least 7.5 sacks in each of his first seven seasons. Those who have also achieved this are Pro Football Hall of Famers Jared Allen and DeMarcus Ware, as well as Aaron Donald, Ryan Kerrigan and Yannick Ngakoue.

The Giants beat the Eagles on special teams in Week 6, averaging more yards on kickoff and kick returns, and winning the battle for field position.

“Yes, obviously we want to play a lot better than we did at MetLife,” Eagles special teams coordinator Michael Clay said, praising his counterpart with the Giants, Michael Gobrial. “Jobe does an unbelievable job with their special teams unit. They’ve really revamped it. They play hard, they play physical out there and they use their personnel very well.”

Graham Gano was activated from injured reserve and will serve as the Giants’ kicker against the Eagles. Jano missed the past five matches due to a thigh strain. To make room on the roster, LB Swayze Bowman was waived.

WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey and S Raheem Layne have been activated from the practice squad. Lin is needed as Jevon Holland is out with a knee injury.
