This Handy iPhone Shortcut Lets You Delete All Your Old Screenshots in One Go

For many iPhone For users, taking screenshots is just as much a part of life as taking actual photos. You make a screenshot of a conversation with a friend to send to another friend. You can take a screenshot of a funny tweet to send to your grandma because it’s less confusing than a link to the tweet itself. You screenshot Google Maps Trends, Instagram story, headline, etc. It won’t take long until your entire photo stream is clogged with old and unnecessary screenshots.
Fortunately, there is a very easy way to delete them all with just a few clicks. First, open the Photos app on your iPhone, scroll down to Media Types, then tap Screenshots. Then press “Select”. From there, you can pick and choose individual screenshots to delete, or you can press “Select All” and send them all to the Trash in one fell swoop.
This is the quickest solution if you’re not too worried about deleting some screenshots you didn’t think to save. As for when the shortcut does the actual deletion, that’s up to you as well. There is always the option to open the shortcut and run it yourself whenever you want. But you can also set up an automation that repeats at any frequency you choose, weekly, monthly, etc. You can also set it to delete screenshots when you plug your phone in to charge, when you open a specific app, or under a number of other circumstances.
