Torrez JR offered IBF eliminator against Frank Sanchez
Richard Torrez Jr. Faced to face Frank Sanchez, on site No. 3, in the IBF heavyweight title removal.
It would be a big opportunity for 26-year-old player Torrez Jr. (14-0, 12 ko) to lock himself in place as the compulsory IBF for the Oleksandr Usyk champion.
Air sports reveals that Top Rank is in favor of the winner of the 2020 Olympic Silver Medal, Torrez Jr. (14-0, 12 ko) facing Sanchez Cuba (25-1, 18 ko) “as long as the deal is correct.”
The IBF was going to offer the fight against Sanchez to #6 Jared Anderson, but chose to offer the competition first to the number 4 Torrez Jr. If he rejects the offer, Jared will get the call.
So far, these heavy weights have chosen not to fight Frank Sanchez:
- Moses will hurt
- Hrgovc Filip
- Daniel Dubois
- Worship ajagba
Those fighters are not afraid of Sanchez. They have other opportunities to fight and have no time to face. Yet, Sanchez’s hand speed, punching combination, and power as a contributing factor must be considered to why the above fighters chose not to fight it.
The way Frank looked at 50% in his loss to Agit Kabayel showed he was dangerous. Sanchez took that battle with an existing injury to his right knee, and still put everything he could treat to Kabayel while hopping around.
It is understandable why Top Rank would be open to let the Pro three years Torrez Jr. face Sanchez. The side is so high that it’s hard not to pull the trigger on this matching. If Richard Jr. Winning, he would be in a position to have a huge payday against usyk.
Even if Oleksandr chooses to leave the IBF title, Torrez Jr. promoted to a full champion and would have interesting battles available to him as the new IBF belt holder.
The American Torrez Jr has looked great in his last two fights, beating Tomas Salek out in the first round and defeating the 2016 Guido Vianello Olympiad by a unanimous 10 -round decision.
