There are many questions that need answers for 1-6 Miami DolphinsBut one of them is that Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins’ top receiver without Tyreek Hill for the rest of the season, didn’t see much action in Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns.

quarterback Tua Tagovailoa There is an answer, and it’s probably not what Dolphins fans want to hear.

“I think that some of it has to be able to be seen with the kids, with their kids and with our kids,” Tagovailoa told reporters Tuesday. “I’m not even the tallest guy back there. So you can see and then sometimes when that happens, you don’t want to throw it blindly, and you want to progress. So, I think there’s a reason why it happened for Waddle.”

It’s no secret that Tagovailoa, listed at 6-foot-1, is not the tallest quarterback in the world NFL. But admitting he can’t see his receivers during plays is another.

That may be true, but clearly looking at your offensive weapons is important for any quarterback. Still, Tagovailoa targeted Waddle, who stands at 5-foot-10, just four times in 31-6. Beaten on the street. He caught just one pass for 15 yards.

Waddle hasn’t had that many targets or catches in a game since Week 14 against the Houston Texans last season. In that game, Waddle had no catches and was only targeted twice despite suffering a knee injury.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel previously worked Tagovaeloa like a well-oiled machine with his teammates, but it has been difficult to get equal time each week this season.

McDaniel noted Tuesday that he and Tagovailoa had an hour-and-a-half meeting earlier in the day, which he called “great.”

“I think there’s zero uncertainty about my faith in Tua and my faith in him,” McDaniel told reporters. “We’re both very eager to get better at our jobs and we’re both very committed and we trust each other to respond to what’s needed to make the team better.”
