Xander Schauffele cashed a $0 check at a Skins game

The Skins game Friday returned for the first time since 2008, and while there were big winners, there was one big loser.

Four players from September participated in this tournament held in 2008 Ryder Cup: Keegan Bradley and Xander Schaufele of the United States, and Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry of Team Europe, the latter of whom won the cup on the 18th hole at Bethpage Black.

Bradley was the big winner of the day, taking home $2.1 million, $900,000 of which came on a birdie on the par-3 12th at Panther National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It was the biggest prize ever in the Skins game until Fleetwood racked up $1.25 million after three holes.

Bradley won a total of 11 skins, nine of them on two holes, while Fleetwood took home a total of $1.7 million. Lowry’s winnings were significantly less than $200,000, but Schoeffel is going home empty-handed.

After the match, each golfer was presented with large checks for their winnings. Even after winning a dime, Schauffel did not quit.

The Two-time major winner Check read “Zero Dollars”. But it remained a good game.

“This is the first check I’ve ever gotten,” Schaufele said. “I’m going to frame this in the living room.

“That’s motivation. To be honest, probably the last Skins game I played.”

Players started with $1 million. When someone won a skin, they were deducted money.

The Skins game was a televised Thanksgiving weekend staple, most recently held from 1983 to 2008. Fred Couples won the tournament five times in his career.
